Our favorite workouts
From Barry’s to pilates, and good ole fashioned sprints, the D1A team dishes on their favorite ways to stay fit.
Brittany Walsh, Account Executive: My favorite workout is hot hip-hop yoga at Y7! I think most people assume hip-hop music and intense yoga don’t belong together, but the combination is life-changing! There are no mirrors in the dark. It’s a candle-lit setting so you can really disconnect from the world and look inward for a full mind, body, soul workout. I always leave drenched in sweat and inspired to take on whatever the world throws at me.
Jacob Wilson, Director of Digital Strategy: I like to swim. I’ve swam since I was a kid, so it’s a very familiar movement to me. I also now find it very meditative as an adult. It allows me to tune the world out, focus on my breathing and enjoy movement in an almost weightless environment. I swim with a masters swim league called Team New York Aquatic.
Rob Longert, Managing Partner: Pel0ton. I’m in love with my Peloton bike. This at home piece of fitness technology lets me get my workout no matter the time of day from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. Beyond that, the tech portion of the bike is super interesting… live streaming classes combined with constant iterations to the bike makes it fun to get in a tough workout while being part of a passionate community of thousands of riders globally.
Paige Feldman, Account Executive: My favorite workout is Barry’s Bootcamp. It gives you best of both worlds by getting both cardio and strength training. I get bored very easily and everyday at Barry’s is a surprise and focuses on different muscle groups!
Cindy Persaud, Associate Strategist: One of my favorite workout is suicide drills — sprints across the room with pushups increasing from 1 all the way to 10 after each lap across the gym. They get my heart pumping and leave me super sore the next day. Plus you feel like a badass once you actually get through it!
My other favorite workout is kickboxing. It’s a great way to relieve stress and sometimes you really just need to kick and punch something at the end of a long week!
Lauren Bartel, Account Director: I love going to SLT (Strengthen Lengthen Tone). It’s a Reformer Pilates class. I call it “instant abs” because you only need to take a few classes a week and you see results.
